John M. Gerwin, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Gerwin, native of Iowa, received his
B.A. Degree with distinction from the University of Iowa in 1968
and his M.D. Degree in 1971 from the University of Iowa. Dr. Gerwin
did his internship and residency training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in
New York City, completing it in 1976. Dr. Gerwin has practiced
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at ENT Associates from 1976 to
the present. Dr. Gerwin has made numerous presentations at state,
national and international meetings, including the Medical
Association of the state of Alabama, American Academy of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Tri-Ological Society.
Dr. Gerwin is the author and co-author of many papers published in
peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Gerwin has earned the
Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.
Dr. Gerwin has received the prestigious Honor Award from the
American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Gerwin
is Board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr.
Gerwins practice includes nasal and sinus surgery, head and neck
surgery, salivary gland surgery, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy,
placement of middle-ear ventilating tubes, vocal cord surgery, ear
surgery, voice restoration, and general otolaryngology.
